Fashion is an art and art is everywhere around us. On the streets, on the billboards, in stores, on shelves, and in your own homes. Some may claim that they are not affected by the wave of fashion change that is constantly creeping up in our lives. But are they really not affected like they claim to be?
It got to me the other day because as I was getting some work done at a local coffee shop, I overheard the two ladies sitting next to me talking about how they're comfortable dressing up in whatever they want and that they're so thankful they're not really into "fashion". I couldn't help but think to myself "How are these women blinded about how they don't have a choice?!?!"
Those who claim they're not affected by the fashion drive don't realize that what they purchase is, yes, they're choice but what's placed on the racks in the stores is not their choice. The stores select a range of fashion pieces from the distributors who select pieces from the runway which obtains its pieces from the designers who build their line based on the fashion drive. So, yes, you are affected by the fashion drive and everything you pick in the stores has already been selected for you by the moms and pops at the beginning of the clothes line.
So next time someone tells you they don't care about fashion or that fashion designing is not a real job, make sure you leave them with them knowing just how important of a role these designers play in their lives.
